EV/Cars › Tesla Holiday Update 2025: New Features, AI Upgrades, and What’s Still Missing
In December 2025, Tesla rolled out its new Holiday Update packed with practical features, fun add-ons, and special “gifts” for drivers during the festive season — but there are also a few things many people expected that still didn’t arrive. In short: “great features, but not everything we hoped for.”

1. Dashcam Viewer Update: Dashcam clips now show additional driving data such as speed, steering angle, and vehicle status — making incident reviews more detailed and useful.

2. Grok with Navigation Commands (Beta): Grok — Tesla’s AI assistant — can now add or modify navigation destinations using voice commands, making trip planning easier, especially for long holiday drives.

3. Tesla Photobooth: Turn your Tesla into a photo booth — take selfies, apply filters, stickers, and share instantly via the Tesla app. Perfect for travel lovers and social media fans.

4. Personalization & Vehicle Customization: In Toybox > Colorizer (now renamed “Paint Shop”), owners can customize wraps, trim colors, virtual plates, and even add custom designs via USB — great for drivers who want a unique look.

5. Holiday Modes — Santa Mode & “Jingle Rush” Light Show: Add year-end festive vibes with new graphics, jingles, and lighting animations.

6. Dog Mode Live Activity: When Dog Mode is active, the car can send real-time snapshots and interior condition updates (temperature, battery, etc.) to your iPhone — offering peace of mind when leaving your pet inside.

7. 3D Supercharger Maps + Live Status: Supported stations now show 3D layouts, queue information, stalls, and nearby amenities — helping with clearer planning for long-distance trips.

8. Automatic Charging Limits by Location: If you frequently charge at a certain place, you can now save your preferred charge limit — the system will auto-set it next time.
Other improvements include Favorite Destinations, Pin-to-Map for Home/Work, and easier waypoint reordering.
The long-awaited “Banish” (or “Reverse Summon”) — letting you walk out at the entrance while the car parks itself — still hasn’t been released.
Apple CarPlay support — rumored to be in development — is still absent in this update.
Specific Parking Spot Selection — once referenced in FSD v14 documents — is still unavailable for general users.
If you use a Tesla for city driving / occasional road trips / daily commuting, this year’s update is very worthwhile with improvements in navigation, convenience, and entertainment.
But if you were expecting a “fully autonomous driving” leap or advanced parking features — this update might feel a bit underwhelming.
