Lifestyle and Travel › Osaka Japan Trip 2025 (EP.3): Fun Day at Universal Studios Japan – Roller Coasters, Harry Potter World & More
February 20, 2025 – A Fun Day at Universal Studios Japan

We woke up early at 7 AM, ready for a day of excitement at Universal Studios Japan (USJ). Originally planning to take the subway, we couldn’t locate the right station in time, so we hopped in a taxi instead — 6,490 yen well spent!
Universal Studios Japan is one of Osaka’s most famous attractions. Opened in 2001, it’s part of the global Universal Studios Theme Parks chain and a must-visit destination for families, couples, and thrill-seekers alike.

We were instantly enchanted by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — from the towering Hogwarts Castle to the butterbeer stands and magical souvenirs.

The roller coasters here are a highlight — thrilling, fast, and worth every minute of the wait! Be prepared though: popular rides can have long lines, while shorter queues are often for children’s attractions. If you plan to visit, allocate enough time for each ride.

We stayed in the park until late evening, then caught a taxi back to our hotel around 9 PM. Dinner was at Dotonbori near Namba — warm food in cold weather hits differently!
The temperature dropped to around 1–5°C that night, with a light snowfall that made Osaka feel even more magical. Just make sure to keep your hands warm — they get painfully cold outside the jacket!
Stay tuned for EP.4 as we continue our Osaka adventure — exploring temples, cafés, and hidden local spots.
