Lifestyle and Travel › Review Shanghai : A Rainy Day in Shanghai: Exploring The Bund, RockBund, and 1000 Trees
This morning began simply with a cozy Italian restaurant right across from our hotel. The smell of freshly baked pizza filled the air as soon as we walked in. We ordered a hot pizza and a fresh salad to share — light yet satisfying, perfect for a rainy morning like this.

The weather was comfortably cool, around 25°C, with light showers covering nearly half the city — creating a calm, romantic atmosphere throughout the morning.
After a short rest, we called a car from the hotel and headed to The Bund, aiming to visit the iconic “Egg Dome” at North Bund Greenland. The ride took about 30 minutes.
We had visited The Bund once before in the evening, but it was already dark so we couldn’t capture the beautiful city view. This time, we came back during the day — though the rain started early, making the sky a bit gloomy. The top of the opposite buildings was hidden by the mist, blending softly into the clouds.
Still, the charm of The Bund never fades — a place where the old and new sides of Shanghai blend seamlessly together.

We continued our trip to Beijing Road to take photos at one of the most famous corners of RockBund. This area is filled with red-brick buildings and stylish cafés — giving off a charming European vibe right in the heart of Shanghai.

At around 2:40 PM, we took another ride to 1000 Trees on Changhua Road — a uniquely designed building covered with trees on each level. A quick stroll around and before we knew it, the evening had arrived.

By dinner time, everyone was craving something familiar — so we headed to MaiThai on Aufu Road, a Thai restaurant that’s even featured in the Michelin Guide. The menu was full of authentic Thai dishes, spicy and flavorful, the perfect way to wrap up a rainy day in Shanghai.
