History of Nami Island

Nami Island is named after General Nami, a famous military leader during the Joseon Dynasty. The island was originally part of the Han River, but due to the construction of the Cheongpyeong Dam, the area became an island. Nami Island has a crescent moon shape, hence its nickname "The Crescent Moon Island."

How to Get to Nami Island

From Seoul, you can reach Nami Island by train or bus.

Train: Take the Gyeongchun Line from Sangbong Station or Cheongnyangni Station to Gapyeong Station, which is the closest station to Nami Island. Then, take a taxi or bus to the ferry terminal.
Bus: There are direct buses from Seoul to the Nami Island ferry terminal.

From Seoul, you can reach Nami Island by train or bus.

Upon arrival at the ferry terminal, tourists need to purchase a ferry ticket to cross to the island. The ferry ride takes about 5 minutes.
