Investment and Financial Freedom › คู่มือแจ้งโอนเงินลงทุนต่างประเทศกับ BOT: ทำไมต้องแจ้ง และทำอย่างไรทีละขั้น
Transferring money to invest overseas must be carried out under the supervision of the Bank of Thailand (BOT).
BOT requires investors to declare key information and the purpose of the transfer to ensure cross-border fund movements are appropriate and transparent. The main reasons include:
Large capital outflows within a short period can cause volatility in the Thai baht.
BOT monitors these flows to assess potential impacts on the country’s overall financial system.
To understand where the funds are invested, what type of investment it is, and how much is being transferred.
This information helps authorities design and adjust monetary policy appropriately based on current conditions.
To distinguish genuine investments from transfers that may be suspicious or abnormal.
To ensure alignment with international AML/CFT standards.
To reduce the risk of being scammed or misled into illegitimate overseas investment schemes.
Commercial banks can help perform a preliminary check on the destination and purpose of the investment transfer.
Now that you understand the reasons, here is how to request the form step by step.
Go to the Bank of Thailand iService portal at https://iservice.bot.or.th/
Then log in with your user account.

After logging in, you will see the menu for submitting forms.
Click the submission menu as shown below.

Select the type of investment, such as foreign securities or derivatives, that you plan to invest in.
Enter the amount you expect to transfer for investment.
Important Notes:
You may declare a transfer limit that is higher than the amount you actually plan to transfer.
However, if you transfer funds exceeding the declared annual limit, you will need to submit a new declaration each time.
